Biography
Graduated from the Victor Popov Academy of Choral Art as a conductor (class of Viktor Popov) and a singer (class of Dmitry Vdovin) Dmitry Korchak completed his post-graduate studies at the Academy in 2004.Since winning in 2004 prize at Francisco Vinas International Competition in Barcelona and two prizes at Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition in Los Angeles, he performs at the best opera venues like Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro dell Opera di Roma, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, Berliner Staatsoper, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, The Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Teatro Real Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro Reggio di Torino, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Theatre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels, Dutch National Opera in Amstеrdam; on the concert platform – at the Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Palau de les Artes in Valencia among others.
He also takes part at the prestigious international festivals, including world-famous Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Salzburg Festival, Bad Kissingen Festival, Kent Nagano Reate Festival, Colmar Festival.
He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Bruno Campanella, Riccardo Chailly, Plácido Domingo, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Marc Minkowski, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Michel Plasson, Alberto Zedda, Vladimir Fedoseev, Mikhail Pletnev, Viktor Popov, Vladimir Spivakov, Evgeny Svetlanov, Yuri Temirkanov and others.
Since 2014 Dmitry Korchak has been performing as a conductor. Since 2017 he has been principal guest conductor at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as well as guest conductor at Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg.
He makes his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Alfred (La Traviata).
