Филипп Петров

Biography

Born in Moscow.

In 2007 graduated from the M.M. Ippolitov-Ivanov State Musical and Pedagogical Institute, the class of violin (Professor I. Golovina). Then continued his education at the Gnessins’ Russian Academy of Music in opera and symphony conducting: in 2016 received a bachelor’s degree (class of V. Ziva), in 2018 received a master's degree (class of V. Fedoseyev), in 2020 completed assistant internship course (class of V. Ziva).

Since 2019 has worked as a conductor at the Instrumental Capella Orchestra of the Moscow Regional Philharmonic.

In 2010 joined the Chamber Musical Theatre n. a. B. A. Pokrovsky Orchestra as assistant-concertmaster. Since 2018 has been a Sub-Principal of the first violin group of the Boris Pokrovsky Chamber Stage Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre.

As conductor he made his debut in the opera Il Re by U. Giordano, the premiere of which took place on the Chamber Stage on July, 2023.

In 2016 established the orchestra Creativa Camerata. Under the leadership of Philipp, the orchestra gave a successful performance at the Great Hall of the Gnessins’ Academy as well as at the festivals at the business centre Romanov Dvor, Shkin Opera in the village of Shkin, and the Moscow International Festival of Gardens and Flowers. It also carried out educational concerts in Kolomna and Serpukhov as part of the project Music is Simple. The orchestra actively collaborates with Olga Kormukhina and Alexander Knyazev as well as the Belcanto Foundation.

Conducted performances of Eugene Onegin by P. Tchaikovsky, Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte by W. A. Mozart produced by the Opera Studio at the Gnessins’ Academy.
The symphonic repertoire of the conductor includes works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and many more.

Participated in the master classes by Y. Simonov and in various projects, such as Soyuzmultfilm’s project Multconcert, concerts at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, broadcast live to Vatican.
