Biography
Svetlina Stoyanova joined the Vienna State Opera as a soloist for seasons 2018/19 and 2019/20. In 2018 she made her house debut as Dryade (Ariadne auf Naxos), followed by a concert performance of Wiener Staatsoper at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. She has since performed the roles of Cherubino, Rossweisse (Die Walküre), Tisbe (La Cenerentola) and Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana) at the Vienna State Opera.In 2017 Ms Stoyanova won 1st prize in the Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition. In 2016 she won 3rd Prize in Le Grand Prix de l’Opera, after which she was invited to spend a week of recordings with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Following her success at the Neue Stimmen competition, Svetlina got invitations by numerous houses including a new production of Le nozze di Figaro at Opéra de Nice and Anthéa Theatre where in January/February 2018 she performed her role debut of Cherubino. In the summer of 2018 she also sang the role of Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at Bregenz Festival.
In the summer of 2020 Svetlina Stoyanova made her debut as Angelina (La Cenerentola) with the New Generation Festival in Forence, Italy.
In 2018 Svetlina Stoyanova graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Clare Shearer with a Masters in Opera as well as a Masters and Bachelors of performance. During her studies she performed the roles; Nerone (Agrippina), Veronique (Le docteur Miracle), Mother (Mavra) and others.
Also a prolific concert singer and recitalist, Svetlina has performed in recitals sponsored by the organisation Live Music Now. She has performed Angel in Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Beethoven’s Mass in C major with the orchestra of Scottish Opera in Glasgow City Halls. In June 2017 she had a recital as part of the international festival Sofia Music Weeks and in June 2018 she performed Mahler’s Symphony No.4 with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra in “Bulgaria” Hall. Stoyanova sang in the opening ceremony of the 2018 Bregenz Festival in Dvořák’s Mass in D major.
In November 2020, she made her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival as the mezzo soprano soloist in Messa di Milano.
