Biography

Graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (RATI-GITIS)(Musical Theatre directing, workshop by Alexander Titel and Igor Yasulovich, Natalia Pustova’s class).

Since 2011, Irina has been a soloist of the Novaya Opera Theatre.

In 2012, Irina Kostina sang the part of Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen at the Irina Arkhipova Festival in Yauza Palace (Radio Orfey Symphony Orchestra, conductor Sergey Kondrashev). In 2013, she participated in the 32nd Rachmaninoff International Music Festival in Tambov (Tambov Symphony Orchestra, conductor Mikhail Leontyev). In 2015, Irina Kostina and Aleksey Tatarintsev gave a concert called Surfing favorite operas in the Ryazan Philharmonic together with the Governor’s Symphony Orchestra of Ryazan, conducted by Sergey Oselkov. In the same year the singer took part in Montecatini Terme – St Petersburg Festival with Pedro Carillo (baritone) and Laura Pascualetti (piano) (Montecatini Terme, Italy).

She often performs in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre and on other venues in Moscow.

In 2015, she debuted at the Bolshoi Theatre in the role of Gerda (Banevich’s Story of Kay and Gerda) and then performed the soprano part in Prokofiev’s The Ugly Duckling (The Fables of the Vixen, the Duckling and Balda performance).

She works with the Yurlov State Academic Chapel Choir (artistic director and chief conductor Gennady Dmitryak). Together with the choir she performed Handel’s oratorio Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Purcell’s ode Hail, bright Cecilia! to name a few.

In 2017, she debuted in the role of Lyudmilla in Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmill in the 60th Glinka All-Russian Music Festival under the baton of Evgeny Samoilov. Later in the same year she performed Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata at the 63rd Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago (Italy) at the Gran Teatro Puccini under the baton of Jan Latham-Koenig.
