We were planning to hold a Ballet festival to commemorate the anniversary of Vladimir Vasiliev in spring: culmination and spectacular final chord was supposed to take place on the actual birthday of the greatest dancer – 18 April. However, lockdown made us postpone this event, and now it is destined to illuminate the light over dreary November days.Don Quixote will open a festival of iconic in the career of Vladimir Vasiliev ballets on 15 November. After, Spartacus (17 November) and Nutcracker (18 November) will be shown. Final chord – multi-genre performance And The Eternal Light Will Shine of Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre – will take place on 22 November.

Sergey Polyakov, a soloist of Novaya opera named after E.V.Kolobov and invited guest of Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania (Italy), The Latvian National Opera and Estonian National Opera, at the beginning of the season debuted also on our stage as Herman in The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky.

 Legend of international opera will be there at the conductor’s stand for the first time at the Bolshoi Theatre on 21st October. Plácido Domingo will conduct the only performance, which is Manon Lescaut. However, a few days later, at a Gala concert, which will take place on 24th October, we are waiting for maestro to take on a part as a singer surrounded by the famous opera stars and young artists who have already won worldwide recognition; conductor’s stick will belong to Tugan Sokhiev that evening, Music Director of the Bolshoi Theatre. 17.10.2020
