Based on the Decree from the Moscow Mayor dated 1 October, introducing additional measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Bolshoi Theatre is cancelling performances, which should have taken place on Boris Pokrovsky Chamber Stage from 5 to 28 October:

Bolshoi Theatre has reached its first milestone on the way to expansion within digital space. It received YouTube Silver Play Button and became the first theatre-winner in Russia. More than 450 thousands of opera, ballet and classical music fans are now subscribed to the channel from all over the world. This is 10 times more than it was at the beginning of 2020.

After a long break, the creative team of The Bolshoi theatre returns to work on native stages!
Despite many difficulties, in the 245th season we are going to present three ballet and seven opera premieres, festivals, concerts in the Philharmonic, tours to Europe and South America (Argentina), and host the international Yuri Grigorovich ballet Competition on our stages. Everything that The Bolshoi did not manage to implement due to lockdown in 244th season will be implemented in the next two years.

Leading soloist Alyona Kovaleva and Principal Dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, Artemy Belyakov, have been awarded with Léonide Massine Prize. Ceremony is held annually in Positano (Italy) and named after the famous Russian choreographer, so well-known in the West. His bright career started at the Bolshoi at the dawn of the XX Century.
