Don Quixote at the Cinema
The Bolshoi Theatre and CielEcran are going to broadcast live performance in real time of Bolshoi Ballet production of Don Quixote in over 300 cinemas in 22 countries. On March 3 and 5 the Bolshoi is presenting again a triple bill of one-act ballet - masterpieces of the 20th century. Works which have lost none of their contemporary appeal as we move into the 2lst century and are eminently suited to serve as reference points for new generations of choreographers. 10.02.2011
The Year of the Russia in France and France in Russia cross-cultural exchange is over, but the mutual interest of these two countries for each other’s art is infinite! Under the aegis of last year’s Russo-French cultural program, the Bolshoi Theatre undertook the role of active organizer of the Paris Opera Ballet Company tour to Novosibirsk. This illustrious Company’s forthcoming season at the Bolshoi is a logical continuation of the project. 03.02.2011
Bolshoi at the Kremlin Palace
Bolshoi is again to perform on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace. Three performances of La Bayadere will run on February 3, 4, 5 and one performance of Don Quixote - on 27th.

The Bolshoi Ballet’s triumphant London tour last summer has brought it 3 nominations for the English Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards. And all of them are ours now! Bolshoi Ballet has considered to be the best among foreign companies visited Britain last year. Among the dansers taking part in Class Concert will be Maria Alexandrova, Maria Allash, Anna Antonicheva, Yelena Andrienko, Nina Kaptsova, Andrei Bolotin, Pavel Dmitrichenko, Vladislav Lantratov, Artem Ovcharenko, Yegor Khromushin. Debuts in Carmen
On 12 January the part of Jose will be sung by the young Brazilian tenor and winner of 2nd prize at the Operalia Competition, Thiago Arancam. The 11-14 January performances of Carmen will be conducted by Maestro Emmanuel Joel-Hornak, an acknowledged interpreter of the French opera repertoire.

To wind up the France-Russia year, the Bolshoi Theatre, in association with Paris National Opera, is presenting its audiences with the WORLD PREMIEREof the opera The Cherry Orchard. And it is introducing a new name to the Russian public - that of composer Philippe Fenelon.

Mezzo TV — Wozzeck
Not Russian classical opera of the 19th century but, on the contrary, a Western 20th century avant-garde work (already however a classic) in a Bolshoi Theatre production is to be transmitted live by Mezzo, the popular French TV channel devoted to classical music, opera, ballet, jazz and world music. “Listen, Look, Dare” is Mezzo’s slogan. And in producing Alan Berg’s opera Wozzeck, the Bolshoi has demonstrated that this is an attitude it fully supports. The live broadcast of this opera (conductor Teodor Currentzis, director Dmitri Tcherniakov) from the Bolshoi will be on 26 November 2010, at 5 p.m. Paris time. 26.11.2010
