Awards Well Deserved

28.01.2011

The brilliant Moscow premiere of the Reflections ballet project on the Bolshoi Theatre New Stage was followed by the presentation of the English Critics Circle National Dance Awards. The winners of the awards were Natalia Osipova (Best Female Dancer), Ivan Vasiliev (Best Male Dancer) and Yuri Burlaka who received the prize in his capacity as artistic director of the Best Foreign Dance Company to have toured in Great Britain in the past season. The awards were brought to Moscow by the English impresario Lilian Hochhauser, who attended the Reflections premiere. The English impresarios Lilian Hochhauser, and her husband Victor Hochhauser, have a long history of cooperation with the Bolshoi Theatre and it is largely thanks to their efforts that the Bolshoi Ballet appears so regularly in Britain. The award-giving ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Bolshoi Theatre Council of Trustees Alexander Zhukov who congratulated the Bolshoi Ballet on its success.
