About two years ago a concert version of fascinating Il Viaggio a Reims by Rossini was performed on the Bolshoi’s Historical stage. After several performances it became clear that we should include this opera in our repertoire. This idea came from the Music Director of the Bolshoi: Tugan Sokhiev conducted it in 2017, and now he also serves as a conductor. 20.11.2018
The Bolshoi presents the premiere of two one-act ballets – a famous work by William Forsythe (the first) and exclusive ballet by Edward Clug (the second). There is no need to explain, that's good news. 03.11.2018
Il Barbiere di Siviglia — the most popular opera buffa by Gioacchino Rossini — returns to the Bolshoi. The new production of this piece will be staged on the New Stage by maestro Pierre Giorgio Morandi, a famous Italian conductor invited for the first time to the Bolshoi, and the director of our beloved Le Nozze di Figaro (to music by Mozart, 2015) Evgeny Pisarev, so this is the second time he’s turned to the story of the restless Figaro. 29.09.2018

For more than a hundred years this opera remains one of the world’s most popular pieces. A well-known opera by Giuseppe Verdi – Un Ballo in Maschera – returns to the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theatre. This is a typical Verdi’s case: great music (some arias and ensembles have become world famous hits), increased passions, breathtaking plot which should be followed closely to keep up with. And a distinguishing mark (which appeared due to the censorship) – is a wandering place of action, which affects the spelling of the main character’s name and title. * Dial M for Murder is iconic film directed by Alfred Hitchcock (1954). 23.03.2018
The Bolshoi cooperates again with acknowledged choreographer, director of the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier. We used to show his famous Midsummer Night’s Dream, we perform his glorious Lady of the Camellias (both ballets born in the mid-1970s are among the masterpieces of the world ballet theatre). Still the third work gets out even from this series. For this time John Neumeier displays Anna Karenina (the title speaks for itself). This is the new production, a co-production with Hamburg ballet – which showed the world premiere of this piece last summer. *John Neumeier 15.02.2018
