Biography

Previous collaborations with Christopher Wheeldon include “The Nutcracker” (The Joffrey Ballet) and “Cinderella” (Het Nationale Ballet & San Francisco Ballet). A third-generation puppeteer and a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionnette. Original creations: Symphonie Fantastique, La Bella Dormente Nel Bosco, Dogugaeshi, Hansel and Gretel, Behind The Lid, Arias with a Twist, Seafoam Sleepwalk, The Rite of Spring and Sisters Follies, A Streetcar named Desire (La Comédie Française). Broadway; The Pee Wee Herman Show, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, The Addams Family. A retrospective of his work took place in Washington DC in 2012. He was a part of the creative team for Kate Bush’s Before The Dawn (2014). His honors include; Obie, Drama Desk, New York Innovative Theatre, Henry Hewes, UNIMA, Bessies, Guggenheim, USA Artists, Doris Duke Performing Artist and a MacArthur Fellow. He lives in NYC, where he leads The Dream Music Puppetry Program at HERE.
