Biography

Slovak baritone Dalibor Jenis has sung the leading roles in operas by Bellini, Rossini, Mozart and Verdi in some among the world’s major theaters including Teatro alla Scala, ROH Covent Garden in London, Opéra National de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Theater an der Wien, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Edinburgh International Festival, Los Angeles Opera, New National Theatre Tokyo, Opera Australia in Sydney, Arena di Verona, Opera di Roma, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Massimo di Palermo.

He worked with such conductors as James Conlon, Asher Fisch, Daniele Gatti, Gianandrea Noseda, Renato Palumbo and Alberto Zedda.

He took part in important productions including Un ballo in maschera (Renato) and Falstaff (Ford) at ROH Covent Garden in London, La bohème (Marcello), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) and Le nozze di Figaro at Opéra National de Paris, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) and Eugene Onegin at Wiener Staatsoper, Faust at Teatro alla Scala, Macbeth at Opernhaus in Zürich, Lucia di Lammermoor at Munich Bayerische Staatsoper, Nabucco at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Un ballo in maschera, Carmen and Nabucco at Arena di Verona, Iolanta at Theater an der Wien, Guillaume Tell (title role) at Edinburgh International Festival and at Teatro Regio di Torino, Eugene Onegin at Los Angeles Opera, Opera Australia and Hamburg Staatsoper, Don Giovanni (title role) at Hamburg Staatsoper.

The beginning of 2017/18 season has seen him perfoming as Conte di Luna in Il trovatore at Frankfurt Opera, followed by Macbeth at Théâtre des Champs Elysées de Paris, Simon Boccanegra at Teatro alla Scala, Otello (Jago) at Wiener Staatsoper and at Teatro La Fenice di Venezia under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung, Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Carmen (Toreador) in Las Palmas, Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Rigoletto at Opera Australia in Sydney.

He opened the 2018/19 season performing Rigoletto at Opernhaus Leipzig and at Staatstheater Stuttgart, then debuted at Bolshoi Theatre as Sergeant Lescaut in Manon Lescaut production.
