Biography
Christophe Chaupin is a free lance light designers for theater opera and other live events based in Paris. Since 1989, he works for many different famous theatres places (Festival d'Avignon, Comédie Française) and opera houses. From 1998 to 2008, he is in charge of the light department at Aix en Provence Lyric’s festival and works for Luc Bondy, Klaus Mickael Grüber, Jerôme Deschamps, Macha Makaieff, Julie Brochen.Since 2011, he also designs lights for Jean Romain Vesperin’s creations: Carmen at Hong-Kong Opera, Lucia de Lammermoor at Rouen opera house, La Traviata at Limoges Opera, Douce et Barbe-Bleue at Lyon Opera, La Flute enchantée and Le Barbier de Séville Corté Opera Festival.
He also collaborate with Georges Lavaudant (La Clémence de Titus at Lyon Opera, La Cerisaie at Paris Opera Garnier, Manfred at Paris Opera-Comique), Yoshi Oïda (Terre et cendres at Lyon Opera), David Gauchard (L’odyssée at Compiègne Opera and Der Freischütz at Limoges Opera), Laurence Dale (Ariadne auf Naxos at Liège Opera), Christophe Lidon, Robert Hossein, Philippe Genty French Visual Art Company.
