Саймон Донжер

Biography

Born in France, Simon Donger is a designer and researcher based in London, UK. As a designer, Simon has worked with various companies such as Societas Raffaello Sanzio, Marisa Carnesky Productions, and, more recently, Array. With a background in sculpture, Simon studied theatre design in Canada before specialising in design for dance at Laban in London. He went on completing a doctorate in scenography at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, where he co-created the Master in Scenography course for which he is the course leader.

As a researcher, Simon has presented his work in conferences and publications around Europe including the Prague Quadrenniale, Zurich University of the Arts and the University of Oporto. In 2010, he edited a monograph of French multimedia artist ORLAN with international publisher Routledge. Since 2011, Simon’s research specifically revolves around the creation and never-ending development of a custom-made digital software and interactive system of projection and lighting which has been used in and developed through installations and performances in various venues including Architanz in Tokyo (2013) and Barbican Theatre in Lond
on (2014).
