Bolshoi Theatre will again take part in the Savonlinna Opera Festival. The first tour of the opera company took place in the summer of 2007, when two productions, Boris Godunov by M. Mussorgsky and The Children of Rosenthal by L. Desyatnikov, were recognized as the best of the Festival’s season. Ten years later, The Bolshoi will again perform in Savonlinna, the largest in Finland and one of the most prestigious opera venues in Europe. Tour’s program is composed of the works by P. Tchaikovsky and included opera Iolanta with the symphonic suite Nutcracker performed as part of production and opera in concert performance Eugene Onegin.

XXII Lincoln Center Festival in in New York combines three world’s most celebrated ballet companies in one presentation and also features the U.S. premiere of one of the most famous Bolshoi Ballet’s performances.

The choir, orchestra and soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, performing under their musical director and chief conductor Tugan Sokhiev, will perform for the first time at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence (France). They will give a concert performance of Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin.

The upcoming tour is special in all senses: firstly, it is timed to the 60th anniversary of the first Bolshoi ballet tour to Japan, and secondly, it will be held within the framework of the "Russian Seasons" in Japan - a large-scale festival of Russian culture, which includes, all types and genres of arts.

NB! On 18 June Denis Rodkin will perform the part of Prince Siegfried, replacing Semyon Chudin.
