First Concert in the Great Conductors at the Bolshoi cycle

World ballet stars have nobly agreed to appear in a charity Gala Concert, to be held at the Bolshoi Theatre on 7 December 2014, in support of the Kiev School of Choreography, the School building being urgently in need of renovation. The idea comes from Bolshoi Theatre Prima Ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, who began her ballet education within the walls of the School.

The Bolshoi suggests taking the third journey (November 6 & 7) into the age of the baroque with the unique French ensemble Les Arts Florissants — a trailblazer in the sphere of authentic performance.

The Bolshoi is about to present The Taming of the Shrew, a ballet specially created for its Company by the illustrious choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. The superlative ballerina Bernice Coppieters and the eminent French writer Goncourt prize-winner Jean Rouand have participated in the work on the ballet.
