Don Giovanni by Mozart, which has been appearing onstage of the Bolshoi theatre oftentimes, returns back again. This time, opera will be presented by Tugan Sokhiev, music director and conductor, Semyon Spivak, stage director and Semyon Pastukh, set designer. Characters of legendary story in their performance belong to society where the cult of hedonism and rampant thirst for pleasures prevails. The story reminds Italian movie of neorealism epoch, with its irony, touching naivety and tragic depth at the same time... It contributes to the plot to be translated into the theatre of experience, with natural emotions and reactions, which is unusual for our time of radical directorial experiments.
