Dances at a good speed

17.06.2014

In the words of Kevin O’Hare, the director of the Royal Ballet, the choice of works included in the present tour programme, was dictated by a wish to show off the Company’s wide-ranging repertoire and the diversity of its dancers: “The programme includes a mixed evening made up of Wayne McGregor’s latest work Tetractys, Frederick Ashton’s fine, romantic ballet Rhapsody (which in his time he created for Mikhail Baryshnikov and Leslie Collier), and Christopher Wheeldon’s entrancing, powerful DGV (Danse à grande vitesse). We are also presenting Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon, a ballet which is an ideal vehicle for displaying the dramatic potential of the entire Company and which has never been performed at the Bolshoi Theatre”.
