The Bolshoi Theatre is celebrating the jubilee of one of the greatest opera divas of the 2nd half of the 20th century — Yelena Obraztsova.
The broadest vocal range, incredible creative energy and magnetism, a musician and actor’s subtle intuition guaranteed for her the love of the public, and also of conductors, producers and singers the world over.
Congratulating the prima donna on her jubilee will be world famous opera stars as well as young singers. Among them are the Italian tenor Giuseppe Sabbatini, who will be conducting (!), the great Hungarian sopranos Eva Marton and Silvia Shash, the French counter-tenor Robert Expert, the reknowned Maria Gulegina (soprano) and Dinar Alieva (soprano), Yelena Obraztsova’s daughter Yelena Makarova (also a soprano!), along with a whole musical contingent from Italy: Sopranos Carmela Remigio and Giovanna Cazolla, tenors Andrea Cesare Coronella and the rising star Francesco Malapena, basses Roberto Scandiuzzi and Alex Exposito. Also taking part in the concert will be the Moscow State Chamber Chorus, conducted by Vladimir Minin and the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra.
In addition, a video program is being prepared for the evening which will include the well-known Yelena Obraztsova recordings as well as fairly rare ones.
