The broadcast will be hosted by the leading soloist of the Bolshoi Opera Elchin Azizov and Head of Press Office of the theatre Katerina Novikova who will meet with the creators of the performance – costume designer Carla Teti, stage director Damiano Michieletto and set designer Paolo Fantin. They will tell about the Opera Company’s plans for the 2018/19 season, later on they will conduct you to the rehearsal of Il Viaggio a Reims, where will meet with Tugan Sokhiev, the Bolshoi’s Music Director, and also with the performers of the main roles – Albina Shagimuratova, Igor Golovatenko, Olga Seliverstova.
The broadcast’s highlights include: interviews with the Bolshoi’s leading bass Vladimir Matorin, who recently celebrated his 70th anniversary; with the graduate of the Bolshoi Youth Opera program baritone Andrei Jilihovschi, who performs successfully not only at the Bolshoi, but also on the most prestige opera stages in the world; the chief chorus master of the Bolshoi Valery Borisov.
Viewers will be able to see the process of making costumes for the premiere at the costume workshops, to visit our largest rehearsal space – the upper stage, located almost under the roof of the Historical building, to get acquainted with the artists who joined the Youth Opera program this fall.
