Critics call Matteo Lippi “ideal Alfredo”. In his turn, singer tirelessly proves his dedication to Italian repertoire, performing leading parts in operas of G.Verdi – La Traviata, Rigoletto, Un ballo in maschera and G. Puccini – La bohème, La Rondine, Le Villi. Two of them can be referred to as his signature operas without a doubt. That includes role of Rodolfo which he performed when he ascended to the stage for the very first time. He then debuted in 2014 at the Bolshoi Theatre based on performance which was staged in 1996, followed by a new production which saw the light in 2018, The second role is, of course, role of Alfredo. Matteo Lippi debuted in La Traviata at La Fenice (Venice, 2015, production by Robert Carsen) and sings there until now. He also successfully performs this part at the Royal Danish Opera (Copenhagen), The Norwegian National Opera, theatres in Florence and Modena.
